The water tower is a historic observation structure located just 1.5 km from the hotel. In the distinctive dome was a water tank that served as a balancing device.
It held about 200 m³ of water. It was designed by engineer Otto Intze and made of galvanized sheet metal. The Giżycko tower supplied the town's residents with running water until 1996, when the municipal water network was modernized. The new owner undertook renovation, giving the Tower a new look – the dome's top was enlarged with a modern viewing terrace harmonizing with the building's characteristic architecture. Inside the tower, a local “mini-museum” was created, where you can admire documents, photos, and small objects illustrating the daily life of the local residents over the past years, as well as an atmospheric café. The highest floor of the Water Tower (162 m above sea level) is reached by 129 steps, but you can also get there using a comfortable, modern elevator. Above the entrance to the building are characteristic coats of arms: Mazurian and the City, inviting visitors to this extraordinary place.
