The art gallery is an exhibition of world and Polish art, ranging from Old Masters' works through avant-garde to contemporary art. The exhibition titled „Randez vous with art’’ consists of graphics, painting, sculpture, and photography.

The Schron art gallery is a new venue on the cultural map of Giżycko. The building looks 100 years old, but was actually built in 2023. The project involved using old building materials. 25 thousand old bricks, 3 thousand roof tiles, and 70 ridge tiles were used. All windows, doors, and floors are over 100 years old. Even part of the roof truss is made from old beams. An old tile stove, rebuilt by a stove fitter, adds charm to the interior.

The art gallery is an exhibition of world and Polish art, ranging from Old Masters' works through avant-garde to contemporary art. The exhibition titled „Randez vous with art’’ consists of graphics, painting, sculpture, and photography. The collection of original works of art was created over 30 years. Now, more than 150 of the most valuable works by artists such as Rembrandt, Durer, Picasso, Dali, Beksiński, Starowieyski are made available free of charge to residents and tourists.

From the gallery, we enter the air-raid shelter. The revitalized German-era shelter was built in 1944 and could accommodate 450 people. The corridors feature photograms - photos of Giżycko from before World War I and II. In May 2024, in the largest room of the shelter, we will open the exhibition "Art from Masuria". We will showcase art by local artists.

The Schron gallery is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Admission to the gallery is free.
